It’s basically the idea that every person is born with a soulmate already determined at birth, which is the basis of a lot of ideas tbf. But this theory stems from the idea that there is so many abortions now that happen that so many people lead to never having a soulmate because their soulmate got aborted and was never born.

Soulmate is just a human fantasy to cope with hormones and how your brain is wired to instinctely react when you're mating with your (at least what brain thinks of) best option
