I have had about 20 sessions in total (one per month) at two different beauty clinics, but the results have been minimal, almost nonexistent. but they explained to me that doing it under the age of 20/21 is quite ineffective because of hormones, and that doing it after that age can generally lead to better results

no its bc they have to up the laser. u have to find the right specialist who doesnt wanna rip u off bc they put it on low settings to make u need more sessions. It. needs. to. hurt REALLL BAD

makes sense good idea tbh, shaving is too time taking + bumps

yeah it’s true waxing make hair grow back thinner and sometimes less dense over time because it removes the hair from the root. like, the hair follicle become weaker, so the hair are finer and softer.

yeahh but idk if its worth that pain id rather shave

true, I always pluck my brows when im SICK bc ur immune system is weak and it will make the hair follicles even weaker and the hair I plucked didnt come back u can try waxing when ur sick

waxing when ur sick sounds like hell, but the results could be worth it

PL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology is an effective option for facial hair removal. It works by using light to target and reduce unwanted hair over time.
  • Beard/facial hair is the worst spot for IPL — Coarse, dense male beard hair needs high power and precision. IPL's scattered broadband light sucks at it—lowest reductions happen on the face (as low as 21–27% long-term). Home devices are even weaker (lower energy for safety), so they "barely work" on thick terminal hair. Many sources (including Braun's own guidelines) say men shouldn't use IPL on facial hair because it's too thick/deep—results are patchy at best, ineffective at worst. Reddit threads from guys trying it? Mostly "slight change after months" or "zero effect on mustache/beard."
  • Home IPL ain't a laser — It's weaker pulsed light, not the focused beam of pro lasers. Takes way more sessions for mild reduction, and for beards? Forget permanent—it's temporary slowdown at best, with regrowth.
