Contrast;-
Female faces were found to be more attractive when luminance difference was increased than when it was decreased, and the opposite was found for male faces. An interpretation consistent with these results is that the luminance difference between the eyes and mouth and the rest of the face is naturally greater in women than men
Tldr: Female faces usually have higher contrast, which is a sign of femininity.
“aspects of facial contrast-the contrast between facial features and the surrounding skin-decreased with age in a large sample of adult Caucasian females. These same aspects of facial contrast were also significantly correlated with the perceived age of the faces. Individual faces were perceived as younger when these aspects of facial contrast were artificially increased, but older when these aspects of facial contrast were artificially decreased.”
Low contrast could make females appear older.
General coloring;
Red lips have been considered attractive in women in geographically and temporally diverse cultures,
possibly because they mimic vasodilation associated with sexual arousal.
Can be increased by retnoil, increasing blood flow, avoiding sun damage etc
Eye brow thickness,
Oral minoxidil, derma stamp, eyebrow lamination
Darker eyebrows are typically more attractive
Eyebrow coloring usually depends on overall coloring, however darker than your hair is recommended
Longer lashes also increase femininity and contrast
Facial contrast strongly affects youth and attractiveness in white women.
Skin texture (wrinkles) and skin color homogeneity (hyper-pigmentation) are good predictors of perceived age in women
Hair-skin contrast
White women naturally have low contrast
Most attractive options (based on contrast theory):
HIGH contrast (Striking and natural)
1. Dark brown
2. Black
3.Deep auburn
4.Cool brunette
enhances sexual dimorphism cues
MEDIUM contrast (very harmonious and youthful)
1.Medium brown
2.Chestnut
3.Auburn/Ginger
4.Soft brunette
balanced contrast looks natural and healthy
LOW contrast (soft, delicate and youthful on younger females)
1.Blonde
2.Honey/Strawberry blonde
3.Dark blonde/ dirty blonde
HIGH contrast
