Experience Deftones is so overrated imo

They have an expensive discography, imo most of their albums are a bit overrated but White Pony and their last album is their best and are great albums, especially White Pony. Saturday Night Wrist also has great highs but is an inconsistent album. I get the criticism but when it comes to relevancy and pop appeal I wouldn't call them overrated, yes they've dropped both incredible and mediocre songs but overall they've been an impactful band in the mainstream

Yes, and it's one of the Deftones I like the least. It's not horrible but none of the songs reach any of the creativity, emotional highs or impact as any of their previous material.

Personally I'm more of a fan of White Pony (which I think is a rare perfect album), Saturday Night Wrist and private music.

It's become a gimmick to hate on em, I think tons of metalgaze bands like Jesu, Deafheaven, Angelic Process, Type o negative and Planning for Burial deserve a lot more mainstream recognition but Deftones can be a great gateway band.
