I’d say it’s more so because they are more often in danger at the hands of outside forces and thus have evolved to pick up body language subconsciously somewhat faster than a man in PUBLIC and random interactions to avoid danger. Abuse isn’t something that starts at the beginning of a relationship. It’s gradual and random then progresses fast. They wouldn’t pick up on that in the beginning because the intention wasn’t there.
