I used to struggle a lot with confidence. I always compared myself to people I thought were better than me. People who have more money, people who look better, people who have more friends. First off I want to say that comparison truly is the thief of joy. Part of life is realizing that there is always someone that in your eyes has a better life. What is the point in chasing something impossible? In this thread I will be telling you some ways to find confidence in yourself. This may all sound obvious, I'm trying my best though 😎

1. Fashion

I feel way more confident wearing an outfit that I think looks good on me. The tip here is; when shopping for clothes, don't think 'I wonder what others would think if I wore this', think 'How do I feel wearing this'. I know there are certain fashion trends that you may feel you need to dress like, but the thing is, these fashion trends can die off quickly. Your style will probably stay the same longer. So dress like you want to dress. Big tip; Stop caring so much about what other people think!! I remember the time when baggy jeans were very popular, I didn't like wearing them, so I stayed true to my style because I felt more confident and comfortable that way.

2: Social media kills confidence

This goes along with my earlier quote; comparison is the thief of joy. Social media is so so so very unrealistic. Take instagram for example. Very attractive people's posts will be pushed more, so they will be more prevalent on Instagram. This will subconsciously make you think that that is closer to the norm, resulting in you probably feeling that you are below average. I did my own little experiment; I stayed off of my phone for 2 weeks, only using it to text friends and family on Whatsapp. I say this definetly made me feel more good about myself, that gives you more confidence. I'm not saying you should completely stay off of social media, but try to scroll less 😎

3. set small goals

I am talking about things like 'I want to get an A on this test', or 'I want to save up to buy this'. Achieving these small goals will, again, make you feel better about yourself. If you spend 10 minutes a day thinking about what you want to achieve the next day, or the next week, you will have set some small goals for yourself.

these are just some of my tips! Thank you if you read this, hope this helps someone!
