Spain
After coming to power, General Franco passed legislation outlawing Freemasonry. The Spanish Falange seized the Masonic Temple of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the largest Masonic center in Spain at the time. Many Freemasons were tried, imprisoned, exiled, or executed, and their property was seized.
