contacts come in a solution that prevents decaying, allowing them to store in there for long. But this solution is damaging for you eyes. Therefore, when you buy new contacts you first need to have them sit in a contact lens solution for atleast 8 hours for the contacts to be safe to wear. You also put them in this solution whenever you take them off to keep them clean and prevent damage on your eyes and the lenses.
