biotin pills help with hair and nails but it only helps if you have a deficency but i still take it
iron
multivitamin ( iron,vitamin d, c zinc)
on the scalp a massage with these oils jojoba, rosemary,horsetail, peppermit ( havent used this one but people say its help)
minoxodil
scalp massage/ derma roller to boost blood flow to the scalp
i make sure to also keep my hair healthy so it dosent break and grows out nicer
for this i use hairmasks that suit my hairtype and dont use heat and sleep in protective hair styles/ a bonnet

But also keep in mind that linox increase the anagen to telogen cycle so you can be prone to hair shedding, while most people needs more keratin to be converted through diet, to get better hair

For maintenance, 0.25mg (Meaning 1/4 of 1mg pill)
I've heard a while ago that stars are getting prescribed that amount to maintain their hair, it's now backed by science

If you're prone to a very aggressive hair loss or can't tolerate fin, switch to topical fin or oral dutasteride

Low dose finasteride stops around 60 - 70% scalp dht levels correct? Is that enough to completely stop recession or will it only slow it? I'm looking to completely stop it if possible or as close to it without risking sides.

I think it's more like 80%, it will stops recession as long as you take it, and minox will regrow the missing hair.

i dont believe pills work as good but products do, ive had shit and amazing hair and what helps me is argan oil, i use it mostly in mask form or just basic argan oil in a bottle, and shampoo and conditioner also matters, got high porosity hair? get a shampoo for that hair, same goes for conditioner

Unless i've misread, you prob mistaken it with the % in DHT reduction, because 1mg and 5mg are reducing 72% serum dht and 0.25 69%

Also, how to take topical minox without hurting/killing cats or dogs? I have both.

Use a stainless steel ball roll on to apply without using hands and avoid animals to reach your scalp

But tbh the minox in ethanol content is extremely absorbed quickly

some people recommend oral castor oil since it contains ricinoleic acid , its not as effective as oral minoxidil tho.
very easy to get so maybe give that a shot + grows lashes and eyebrows too
