Wait im insulted by that emopop thing mcrs album i gave you my bullets you gave me your love is one of the most hardcore albums ive ever heard and I wa really into hardcore slam for a long time, they're one of the purest forms of emo not in the sound but in the words and the meanings and their trauma behind these songs, along with the bands health getting worse as they made each album and fell harder into depression, dont call them pop.

MCR is far from being the purest emo band, they're literally more pop punk than they are emo. Pure emo would be Rites of Spring, Moss Icon, I Hate myself, early Unwound and Orchid. That's just the genre they're making music under and it's no way a diss ice MCR is the best emopop band oat and arguably one of the best emo bands. Three Cheers is THE perfect emo album but it's more emopop. Also jfl at that MCR is one of the most hardcore things I've ever heard take.

No thanks, as much as bullets was essential for the development of the band, they perfected their emo sound with Three Cheers. The mixing on Bullets is a bit too rough for it to be fully enjoyable while Three Cheers is mixed orgasmicly well for the rock standard of the 2000s. Also to say you "understand an album more" than someone else is peak pretentious behavior.

Im slightly pretentious im a tad elitist, I was raised by music with a punk dad and a goth mom, ive known the music I love since forever and I carry it very proudly as a part of me

Im not that into goth, mostly whimsygoth like the cure or the cocteau twins, I mostly like punk and emo from my dad lol, he put me onto mobo and suicidal tendencies before I could form a thought

"Whimsygoth" go back on tiktok this really broke my heart. For the mobo and suicidal tendencies it's cool, check out Unwound, Daughters, Chat Pile, Big Black, Model Actriz and Minor Threat.
