No they're just shitty clip ins

Doesn't guarantee you any results but try wrapping your extension in baking paper and shortly iron it

I've straightened them without protection a million times dw, and it helps very minimally

If theyre synthetic there isnt much you can do but putting them in slightly hot water with conditioner mixed in can help alot I used to do it with mine alot

After so long it wont help anymore tho thats why synthetics need replaced more often
