generally picking the right person to be friends with (regardless of gender) is very hard !! Im sorry that happens to u what i think u need to do is look for people with a big variety of friends of the opposite sex cuz if u try to befriend a girl with mostly female friends it might start giving her ideas cuz those females tend to preserve their relationships with the opposite sex
