I could see how it could be an aid if you're not used for searching stuff on your own. I would find it unusual an academic of any kind would prefer to use generative AI for their work, though. Not you specifically, just in general. It takes away a majority of the fun of doing the academic part. Besides, Generative AI has a tendency to hallucinate just due to how they're made.
I was joking with Hunter & Allure, but them using it for fun makes more sense to me, than using it for anything such as research. I guess if you fact check it and don't just copy and paste whatever you see, it might help. I like looking for and reading papers though.
