Experience I discovered a pretty cool thing about my body

Out of everything you could question Orka for you're gonna question if he's Italian?
No it’s cause I wanted to ask him something specific
@ruby

Yes, half italian half polish, but my italian is conversational / slightly above conversational, nowhere near fluent since I only moved back to italy around 3 years ago
Did u watch the Italy version of love is blind?

Never even heard of the show
Oh it's a romance show it seems, I've never really been interested in those, only watched a romance anime once, is there something specific in the italian one? @rand anon

I don't watch reality TV too much and when I do it's the less popular shows.

I've been watching a show called Muslim Matchmaker with my wife lmfao it's a lot more innocent in nature compared to stuff like Love Island, and is quite boring compared to stuff like The Bachelor.

I've seen video essays and commentary videos on Love is Blind but haven't watched it directly, but I roughly know how it works and what kind of people usually end up on there lmao unsurprisingly love is NOT blind for a majority of people. Men asking the women how much they weigh. Subtle.

I want to watch a Housewives season or something because it seems fun (sounds batshit insane ) but haven't gotten to it. I used to watch shows like The Bachelor with my grandmother when I was younger.

Interesting, I’ve seen Indian matchmaking but not that one

Honestly I don’t remember a weight comment at all, and I’ve seen every season, well I’m still getting through the latest season so it might be in that one. Fuaarkk maynnn I literally watch them as soon as they release but I was busy af during Jan and feb :bongotap: :bongotap:

The fall season’s coming soon so looking forward to that :blobdance: perfect time for continuing my Gilmore girls binge too:peepoComfy::peepoComfy::peepoComfy:

Nah i havent, like ive only seen some clips of indian matchmaking but never shows of it

is there a show of it or something
Yeee it’s a Netflix series

@Randomized if you’ve been enjoying that Muslim matchmaker show, u might also enjoy love is blind habibi  it’s the same format as the other countries LiB but it has some tweaks to accommodate for their more conservative culture :blobdance:

I gotta check it out. Indian Matchmaker also looks interesting. I need to renew my Netflix subscription, we primarily use Hulu now.

Genetically speaking I should be extremely prone to addiction, but it seems like my body just stops itself whenever it wants to

I met up with ruby early this year and started smoking cigs with her, obviously assumed I developed a nic addiction since I started smoking even after the first trip, but then about 2 months ago my body just decided it wasnt good for me and forced me to stop.

Then I picked up vaping, tasted amazing, felt light and refreshing, and felt wonderful, and then it happened again, my body decided enough was enough, and now I can't hit a vape for more than 2 hits in a 5 minute span without literally gagging.

It's a super useful trait, and I'm assuming it's because my body somehow figures out (either through me getting sick, or through something else) that my habit is unhealthy, and makes it less appealing to me.

Here's what google said:
The Survival Mechanism: Humans evolved a powerful defense mechanism to keep us from repeatedly eating poisonous food. If you consume something with a distinct flavor or smell and then get sick shortly after (even if a random stomach bug caused the illness, not the food/vape itself), your brain immediately connects the two
Dopamine Burnout: Nicotine creates an addiction by hacking your brain's dopamine (reward) system. However, sometimes the physical toll of smoking (inflammation, mild respiratory distress, or subtle changes in your body's chemistry) starts to outweigh the chemical reward.
Subconscious Rejection: Even if you didn't consciously feel "sick," your body might have hit a threshold where it recognized the toxicity. The brain can suddenly flip a switch, cutting off the craving because it perceives the substance as a threat rather than a reward.

Anyways, I'm officially smoke-free, unintentionally, just don't want to anymore

Congrats on being smoke-free, now try snus.

Seems like a great trait to have icl, i have somewhat of a similar behaviour but it’s not quite the same exactly, i just know beforehand when having anything new like alcohol or smoking, that it’s super harmful and that it has no benefit whatsoever for my body, so even if a crave the dopamine that the substances could give me, my body and my mind just completely prohibit me from trying it, it basically disappears from my radar of things to do, that’s why i never tried alcohol, smoking, etc…
