Their leaders don't do for keeping people happy, they do it for keeping their nation ahead.

Chinese govt may seem very imposing and authoritarian but they have good reasons. China would have been a poor country if it remained a democracy. These guys know how to run a country.

They kept fertility rates under control. They kept Abrahamic faiths under Chinese influence. They value their scientists and intellectuals. I am a fan of this organized nation. Unlike Japan, China isn't a Western puppet.
