Just because someone has it "worse" than another person, that will never change how the other person feels. Most it will do is just create feelings of guilt!! It is retarded and invalidates any feelings you have. Yea you can be grateful that there are some things going for you, of course but to completely let go of your feelings just because some prick decides you aren't mentally ill "enough" is the biggest bullshit ever

I'm not going to be silly just this once because this is an underrated truth. Your whole life could seem perfect, but you are still allowed to feel the way you do. Mental health doesn't pick and choose who it affects- it could target anyone. A lot of people who invalidate that just don’t understand that all trauma is traumatic.

I feel that everyone's feelings are valid. It doesn't matter WHY we feel what we do; it just matters that we do. One great example is autism. While reading about PTSD, I came across an article about Autism and PTSD. This article says a lot of people with autism also have signs of PTSD. PTSD, not because they were abused or witnessed violent traumatic events, but because they can get overstimulated by lights, noises, and people. These things definitely aren't traumatic for most people. However, for a person with autism,it can be very traumatic. It's like that for everyone; we all experience and process things differently. You can be depressed for no apparent reason (there's usually a reason even if you don't realize it) unless you are making it up, but that in itself is a whole other can of psychiatric worms. There's always a reason for how we feel, just like there is a reason that person is dismissive of your feelings, and it might not have anything personal to do with you, but something to do with their own mental health. If you feel depressed, then you feel depressed; you don't need to have a certain level of bad stuff happen to you. Don't ever let someone tell you what you should or should not be feeling. The whole "you have no right to be angry" sentence doesn't change the fact that you are indeed angry.
