If one believed in "race" then creating arbitrary boundaries between Turks and "Europeans" doesn't make ANY sense. There's far less differentiation between Turks and "Southern Europeans" than between "Southern Europeans" and Finns. One CANNOT seriously live in a world where Italians are lumped in with Russians and differentiated from Turks; Italians are (much) closer to Turks than to Russians.
