It all depends on who you're dealing with. I've got a Cape Verdean friend who doesn't like it at all, not even when other black people use it. Cape Verde is an island off of western Africa which was populated and colonized by the Portuguese, they imported locals from west Africa, so they're basically mulattos. On the other hand, I've got a blasian friend who has to cage at the most racist shit, especially if it's aimed at black people. He cages so hard whenever he shows me that "periodt!" meme.

Yeah it's a huge difference if you get labeled as it or how it's used, we have a racial slur too in German which is used for Arabs & muslim foreigners in general and if people called me that word directly it always bothered me, but if it's used as something else who cares like idgaf

Interesting, I was thinking maybe in the Netherlands we would have a similar word, but we don't. We don't have a specific slur, but they will just use "kanker" as a prefix which means "cancer", which they'll add to whatever thing they hate. It's extremely rude to say it, and if you were to say it to someone then 99% chance that they'll want to fight you, 1% chance that they'll just ignore you (only the wiser ones to this).
