Resisting temptation is a popular teaching in Christian circles. It is said that the passion of act of excessive self indulgence leads to a corrupt soul and impure thoughts that lead to sin

Just FYI it basically means I never eat till I'm full or sluggish, I never snack on anything ( self control in general ) and I don't masturbate or watch pornography

And this extends to other facets of life that comes under controlling excessive self indulgence. I avoid "binge" watching shows or movie, "rotting", doom scrolling etc.
