I'm in love with the idea of being able to do this, but then I watch an episode and am instantly bored out my mind.

I'm legit more stimulated by staring at a wall and just letting my mind wander. Actually I prefer this over most things. I unironically am more satisfied talking to a wall than I am going out in the world and talking to people.

Most people don't like anime, and they have their reasons.

It's a bit too flashy for most

I just want to find escape through living in an internalized fantasy world, but this seems to be unachievable. Unless you have any alternative suggestions?

IDK man, there are some things which may help fill the void of not being a weaboo. Think about it this way, the appeal of anime is repetition, familiarity and belonging. Now what IRL substitute may suit these appeals best? Obv ritualism, find some psychic chanting to act on or whatever. It's the same thing anways.

Sounds like I'll just continue doing drugs. Gives repetition, familiarity and belonging.

I can recommend you some great ones

That would be great. The only ones I've managed to sit through were Berserk and Hellsing, and this was a while back.

Berserker? Don't you mean Berserk?

Here's my favorites: Texhnolyze, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, Berserk, Death Note, Attack on Titan, Welcome to the NHK, Hunter x Hunter, FLCL (this one is very short), Nana, Serial Experiments Lain and some more

Yeah, I realized lol.

That's a lot, appreciate it. Which one should I start with? I don't like when fighting scenes are like a whole episode.

Start with Death Note, then I'd say watch Bebop and then Welcome to the NHK since they are the most enjoyable, then try Lain and FLCL since they are very short, and finally you could try Texhnolyze or Evangelion
