Polls are voted on by previous MotM members and staff members, it's not public because of abuse concerns. However he was added to the polls because users nominated him, which is open to anyone and anyone will be added after they hit a certain amount of nominations "organically".

Users complained about the site not allowing users to have a voice, so I gave them one, but they're upset the guy they nominated won. So I don't think it matters, users are going to be upset regardless.

At the end our votes dont really matter,it’s what the mods decide at the end.

I’m telling you even though currycelloser deserves it but probably in top 3. Where was the “He had more nominations” n***a I saw only a few but no one and literally NO ONE expected this. Also put my fucking guides in must reads they’re fucking good stop using the excuse that “they’re short”

What? I never claimed he had more nominations, he had more votes. They're two different systems. Users do not get a say on the final poll. I've disclosed it in the first post every month.

Polls are staff and MotM winners only. They've been staff only as long as the banner has been around, but I recently opened it up to MotM users (who are not staff) because users were upset users had zero say. Users were also upset they had zero say on who even went onto the polls, so I created the nomination threads so users could advocate for users who wouldn't of been on the polls at all.

Still wouldn’t give any authority of democracy to members of the system here of this award. There would be no point in a nomination thread if the times a member has been tagged dosen’t contribute to this. And honestly still very very unexpected,but I can’t cry around I need to lower my stress now.

over0 wouldn't of been added to the previous poll if it wasn't for user nominations, and curry wouldn't of been added to this month's poll if it wasn't users nominations. It's because of these threads, these two users ended up winning, so they do effect the outcome of the polls, it's just not done by the popularity among the users.

Users were upset when they learned it was primarily me and staff picking out who went onto the polls to begin with. So I tried giving users the option to add users who were being overlooked by staff. I've never claimed it was anything beyond that, and I've clarified it every time I realized there was confusion.

Just because I'm not serious most of the time doesn't mean I'd be a bad mod
