even if you accept some population-level goals, designer babies change the moral relationship between parent and child. a child becomes an outcome to be specified rather than a person to be encountered. that shift has social consequences - inequality, commodification, and coercion - that aren’t present in abstract population policy.

I think eugenics should only be applied to prevent deadly diseases and such. If designer babies becomes a common thing the suicide rate would prob go up a ton bc of how boring ts would be and would create a hierarchy kinda like how it is with looks now expect there will be no “glow up” or “ascending” u jus have to except u were created lower but tbh ts will become part of life at some point similar to having to adapt & accept AI now
