Wars with muslim sultanates wasted resources of Indian subcontinent on constant war, during the muslim occupation many temples were looted and resources taken and then came the British who were technologically superior and basically enslaved already weakened subcontinent. After that many countries/duchies were lumped all into one giant state which had happened only once in history before that moment, which resulted in most regions being severely underdeveloped and government not so efficient
That's a moot point, as i imagine you are refering to facts that happened almost 500 years.
If you are, non ironicaly stating that the new dehli sultanate as a reason of why modern india is not "great" i will put many examples;
Deutschland until the 1870 and 1871, warred with eachother where disjointed throught many cultural lines such as prostentatism and catholicism, as well as the fundamental or ideal of a state. Until it formed and was then forth considered (as is now india a rising superpower).
Or in Asia, your neighbours China going through a warring states period such as the dehli sultanates and princely kindgoms. And afterwards going through a horrible invasion that took a toll imperiously on the manpower of the country, only to go then to a civil war, later to the maoist revolution. To now be a superpower, equally or similarly as what japan had.
All that to say looting of some temples did not occupy such an economical disaster as you describe, modern wars with east pakistan, pakistan have had much more effects.
And the british you could be kidding me, they are the only reason your nation state exist.

Yeah, no wonder there's almost 121 languages but only one linga franca "english" that they looted your country obviously but you did not overcame a brutal civil war, or as big of a war as iran v. iraq or vietnam (a nation most comparable to yours), that has surpassed your country in pib per capita.
In conclusion, the ideas of p=muslims ^ q=british =/= r=india not good,
because p^q==r if p and q are invalid or non consecuent reasons.
It's much more logically reasonable to conclude that enourmous corruption and incompetence of your politicians are to blame for the misgivins of your nation-state.
