There was a girl in my class who was known for spreading gossip. She had a strong dislike for a group of heavier girls who were planning to wear corsets as part of their princess costume for an event. She couldn't help but constantly speak badly about them in front of others.

When the girls found out about her comments, they were deeply hurt and upset. They kept repeating that they were "thin" and "beautiful" [even though they weren't], seemingly in an effort to console themselves. It was embarrassing to witness, to say the least. When it all came back to the gossip queen, she was suspended. I believe it was deserved. It's important to be mindful of how our words can affect others and avoid making hurtful comments. Such negative behavior is reminiscent of "mean girls," a common stereotype in teenage social dynamics.

Well sometimes you can not and should not avoid hurting people's feelings. It's not good but there are worse things in the world. Just like that fat ass black boy that was killed at a Florida amusement park a couple years ago. 14 years old. The park staff didn't want to tell him he's too big to go on the ride. And they also wanted to avoid being "racist", so they just let them get in the ride without saying anything. Now there's a viral video of him ejecting from his seat and slamming into the ground dead. This is an extreme example.

Anyways, that girl did bad but I think suspending her over it is retarded. That's why kids are so soft and full of anxiety these days. Because everything's made to be a big deal and your feelings are sacred. When I was in highschool teachers were more likely to let kids resolve this kind of shit amongst themselves. It's ironic that during the times when bullying was harsher and more direct students killed themselves over bullying way less on average.
