Yes, using jaw trainers are somewhat cope. A way more natural option is to use mastic gum (3x harder than normal gum) to grow your masseters. I recommend buying from a website “gum of the gods” while it does have a corny name and they take a lil while to deliver, the gum is absolute quality.

thanks I have heard of mastic gum but never believed it
