"MENA" is not a thing. "Western Eurasian" is the correct terminology. The genetic differences between most of the so-called "Middle East" and most of North Africa exceed genetic differences between most of the so-called "Middle East" and Germany. Syrians have a 0.012 distance with Germans but a 0.017 distance from Moroccans. Western Mediterraneans are closer to Eastern Mediterraneans than Eastern Mediterraneans are to Southern Mediterraneans. Keep in mind that populations of the Eastern Mediterranean are Southern shifted so the distances between "Middle Easterners" and North Africans only increases when we look at Anatolia, the South Caucasus and Mesopotamia.

"White passing" isn't a thing. Western Eurasians between each other are amongst the least differentiated peoples on Earth.

Also, SLC24A5 is largely fixed in all parts of Western Eurasia; how can one "pass" as "yourself"?

"Middle Eastern" is literally a term the British invented. There's no genetic meaning to the term; after all, most "Middle Eastern" groups are genetically closer to Bulgarians than to Saudis and Yemenis whilst Kurds are closer to Bulgarians than they are to Palestinians.

A stupid term used to unite disparate people. Why aren't "BALE" (Balkans and the Levant) or "SEEWA" (Southeastern Europe and West Asia" or "BALCA" (Balkans and Caucasus) or "BALAN" (Balkans and Anatolia) used? There's far more connectivity between all of the Eastern Mediterranean and South Caucasus than between Mesopotamia and the Southern Mediterranean. 🤡
