My dad keeps getting mad at me because I don’t talk to him enough

My dad keeps getting mad at me because whenever he talks to me I don’t give lengthy responses and I just struggle with making conversation with my parents. I try to talk to him and give the best possible answer but I can’t ever seem to make conversation with them. I just don’t understand how to do it I don’t get it. What am I supposed to do? Is there rules I’m supposed to follow or something I don’t get it it’s so hard for what is there to talk about. I know my dad wants me to be more confident and social but I just find it so hard to be that. If I’m not talking to my friends about a joke or things you’d say with friends I don’t know how to make conversation can someone help me?

Best advice here would just fake the convos and make them longer. Yes it will be annoying but at least you will be avoiding pissing yorubdad off
