Need assistance with the jaw situation, I don’t qualify for bsso or jaw surgery, and I have a feeling braces are going to ruin me.

Because of my recessed chin, when mewing my tongue hits my lower teeth.

One picture is before braces, the other one with braces is recent

Solution
I asked an orthodontist, he told me I dont qualify, my only concern now is that Idk if braces are going to have the eefect I want or if they are going to ruin my face

I saw many overbite correction where the chin recession decreased drastically, but from what I am hearing from people, it seems that braces dont fix recession
That is indeed mostly correct. Braces do not treat outright malocclusions and for that you need to consult with an orthodontist. Then for now my suggestion is to visit a different one. (Although it may be entirely possible the different ortho gives the same response)
So there indeed seems to be improvement. Just stay in touch with your dentist and get the braces procedure done. If you have further concerns of why you didn’t qualify for a certain surgery you best follow up with an orthodontist than ask us.
