But I don't think many or any people on here can be classified as my legitimate friends. I'd say its more of an acquaintanceship. IRL bonds are worthy of the terms friend and such, but even those can be debatable. If you guys are addicted to the same thing, and "friends" because of that, and solely interact around that addiction, that's an acquaintance not a true friend. True friends are rare in real life, so I think impossible online. These are synthetic relationships, for example I would not interact with most or any of you in person, I would not say any of the stuff I say on here to any of you, unlikely we would interact at all, even if in the same area. The only place were real bonds and interactions can occur are real life, that's just how it is.

Well, I’ve had friendships with people for many years now… and they’re still going strong. But yeah, meeting IRL would strengthen it for sure.

Its just addiction yeah, but this can apply to any type of addiction. For example , some gym guys who are "friends" but are just obsessing over the gym and addicted to it, happen to be acquaintance
