They were meant to depict peak beauty, and I was obviously exaggerating but the average aristocrat in ancient Greece was very healthy and very beautiful. That is why there were so many great thinkers. Their minds were put in a erotic trance from the beauty of these youths both men and women.

they were meant to depict Godlihood, which sure can be seen as peak beauty. but they also made female statues which represented peak beauty. only reason there are more male statues is because it was a patriarch

kuros weren't about peak beauty. also they made female equivalents. even if they were about "ideal" beauty, only reason there are more male statues is because it was a male dominated society
