I wouldn't call that lying per se. They might just not be forthright about some aspects of their character. Holding in a fart when you're around someone you like isn't necessarily a lie. And someone lying about their past has more to do with the type of person they are. Sluts will lie about their past for sure though so you're right about that.

Inflating the ego isn't really a lie though. If someone thinks the world of me when I really ain't shit it's not a lie when they genuinely feel that way and tell me how they feel.
