I have a science presentation in like 2 days. I suffer from extreme anxiety. I usually take 200-300mg of pregab, sometimes I like to use phenibut also, which mogs it to oblivion, but obv i limit myself to once a week max, so i dont get hooked on that shit.
anyway to my main question, what are your thoughts on using pregab to reduce anxiety during my presentation? The issue is that when it comes to these drugs, they usually tend to impair brain function due to the reduction in the glutamate transmitter that's located in the hippocampus and cortex iirc. usually these tend to happen on the higher dosages. I'm not too sure on how high a dosage one must consume to experience these effects, but I'm pretty sure it's impossible to maintain brain function while simultaneously lowering inhibition since it literally works by decreasing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters(ie,. glutamate, noradrenaline, substance P, dopamine, and a bunch more, not too sure but you get the point).
So now we know that it's impossible to fully maintain brain function, but would there be a dose such that it wouldn't fuck up my brain as much and still allow me to have near normal levels of brain function while simultaneously lowering inhibition? Or is this impossible, and I'm just asking for unrealistic expectations?
I'm already planning on taking 40mg propranolol or even more for the physical sides of anxiety, but there's no point in doing that if I'm still going to experience mental anxiety.
i genuinly dont know what to do, like I was thinking of using memantine, but even that fucks up my brain, and makes me slow, and it kinda feels like a shitty version of ketamine. I personally am not a fan.
would appreciate some advice on people who are/went through a similar experience and how did you overcome this issue?
