recessed chin (slight)

how much does a slightly recessed chin nerf u?

2 years ago i had the option between braces and jaw surgery and of course, I chose braces because my teeth were fcked up,
I was told if I got braces, I wouldn't be able to get jaw surgery

what do I do in this situation? is it really important?
I see so many conversations where its a big deal to everyone
