Large-scale observational studies suggest regular sauna use may reduce the risk of age-related conditions, such as heart and neurodegenerative diseases (such as dementia). However, the frequency of sauna use matters.
A 2021 review of research in Experimental Gerontology found that men who utilized a sauna four to seven times a week had a 66% less chance of developing dementia and 65% less chance of developing Alzheimer’s disease compared to study participants who only used the sauna once per week

Sauna also relieves pain and lowers stress levels, and if you do it in the evening it helps with falling asleep if you have sleep issues.
If you're hungover, get an electrolyte drink and go to the sauna because it speeds up rehydration.

Obviously dont be a r****d and do crazy hour long sessions, 15-20 minutes should be good.

More benefits:
According to his announcement this month (October 2025), Johnson reported that his semen’s microplastic particle count dropped from ~165 particles per milliliter in November 2024 to ~20 per milliliter by July 2025 — an ~85% decline. He attributes most of this change to a daily routine involving a dry sauna set at about 200°F (≈93°C) for 20 minutes, coupled with applying an ice pack to his groin region during the sauna session to protect testicular and sperm health. Additionally, Johnson reports he made significant changes to reduce plastic exposure — he started avoiding microwaving food in plastic containers, using a reverse-osmosis water purification system and non-plastic storage, avoiding plastic cutting boards, and upping his environmental hygiene more broadly. Johnson also noted that his blood microplastic levels exhibited a “nearly identical drop” over the same period.

Saunas are a great tool for overall health and brain function. However when you're hungover, drinking plenty of water and resting is a much safer option than going into a sauna

my gym had a sauna, after every session i tried to go in there and chill for 30 mins each day, i feel like it helped me tons when it came to controlling my stress levels throughout the week, put me in this meditated state.
