good question, short answer yes (NOT romantically) partially because of religious beliefs and partially because of personal values

I hate what he did to me, but if I hate him as a person nothing will change. God tells me to love and forgive everyone, I have faith He will take care of people that have hurt me. When I was looking into him and some of his posts he just seems like a really messed up kid and he's going through a lot at home. Not an excuse AT ALL to do what he did but I pity him and I still hope he gets better with time.

I get the whole "Forgive and love regardless" religious motto, I think it is quite virtuous and it's a model I wish I could follow.

Unfortunately, I'm a very resentful person if you don't know it already. If I feel like someone has fucked me over it won't sit right with me until i make them pay.

And I also partially think this motto can lead people to be very passive about situations they should take action on, but that's just me

I allow myself to feel hurt, sad, scared, angry...but the important part for me is giving it to God. sometimes the blessing is the peace I get from distance/not thinking about it as much, sometimes the blessing is a resource that I can use to fix the situation or get closure. the act of release helps me to cling to it less. some situations require action but going into it with a clear mind is your best bet and I really do think that process helps me.
