Normies are very interesting specimens. You say these certain words and phrases that go against the norm, and that they believe are common consensus, but when challenged and pressed they can't actually give a reason for it. They just do it. Obviously, like all things, it depends. For example, common consensus is to not drink bleach. I agree with this, bleach is extremely harmful and toxic. But just because something is common consensus doesn't mean it can be challenged and re thought, which lots of people fail at. Many people on here think that if you are attracted to women at an age they perceive as young then that you are a disgusting pervert, a rephrensible pedophile. However, they tend to be attracted to girls of all maturity, (as long as their age is above 18 because a number is definitely the best way to differentiate by their logic.)

Anyways, going back to the title, I think showering is unecessary from my experiences. Back during 2021, I would never shower, I would just swim (in non toxic water), and clean myself that way. Most of my health issues back then were because of my vegetarian diet, however I never really smelled because I never sweat. Showering is just the general way people clean the body for it to be more aesthetically pleasing, bathing as well. While these aren't bad on their own, people often use unhealthy city water sources for this. The water pelts your skin with chemicals along with it, temperature also plays a role. Hot water is going to damage the skin barrier.

When I couldn't swim during the winter, I would wash down with a washcloth. This worked perfectly fine with me.

Anyways, my point is that just because someone doesn't shower doesn't mean they aren't clean and smell. But people will automatically jump to these conclusions because of the words alone. When the reasoning is challenged, they call you a sweaty basement dwelling incel.

Really good thread.
I agree with the whole notion of not just going with common consensus for the sake of it, look deeper into things yourself and find the truth out.
Showering is unnecessary if you stay clean and don't need to. Especially with the state of tap and shower water, it's just chemicals attacking you like you said.

This reminds me of when Matpat decided to see if washing your legs with soap makes you clean. The final answer was that you should just let the soap drip down your legs. I still disagree with this thread, even though lately I haven't had the motivation to actually use soap when I get in the shower.

Why would you disagree with it ? You still pelt your body with toxic water at the end of the day, I don't know anyone with good water source that would waste it on a shower

Most of the dirt on our body wont only be taken away with water. Soap gets all the bacteria and oils off your skin. Although using soap makes our skin dry lotion can solve that. The part where only showering with water doesn't make you stink is actually right. I've been doing it for like 2 weeks, only because I have no motivation to actually bathe the way I usually would.

Soap adds a nice scent afterwards that I like, because I like smiling like roses and what not. I would say maybe try a natural smelling deodorant because when you sweat you don't smell...good.

There are 360 bacteria cells to one human cell, as long as you appear clean is all that matters.

The last part is only true if you have a bad diet. I can go weeks without smelling because my diet, and the fact I don't exercise
