Here's the premise of this video at the bottom.
Back in the late 2000's there was an online group of people based out of Canada that terrorized small businesses and hotels across the United States with Skype. Back then you could call landlines using Skype and it was impossible to trace where the call was coming from. They would usually call hotels at odd hours asking to have their call transferred to a random room. After being transferred they would inform the person occupying the room who had just been woken up that they were calling from the front desk, and that there was some sort of emergency going on. They would then trick the occupants into smashing windows, breaking the television sets, activating the sprinkler systems and causing all sorts of havoc in the hotel. They even tricked a group of employees in a KFC to strip naked then go out into the parking lot, set fire to their clothes, then smash the windows of the building by claiming to be the fire department and saying there was a chemical leak within the establishment.
They would also hijack business phone lines. These guys were extremely professional in the way they carried out these pranks. By the time they were caught they had caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages to businesses all across the US. They would do these pranks live where people would listen in, and all their pranks are archived on https://m.youtube.com/@PrankNETArchive
