Did the British use slaves?
Yes, Britain had slaves
and played a dominant role in the trans-Atlantic slave trade, transporting over 3 million enslaved Africans between 1640 and 1807. While slavery was more prevalent on Caribbean plantations, it existed within Britain, with 10,000–14,000 enslaved people in England/Wales by the late 18th century.
