The modern slopfest is also run horribly and its naturally falling apart under its own corruoption, plus people don't have as much freedom as they did even 10 years ago and they're starting to miss living in places that weren't hardcore surveillance states with no fun activities or other likeable people.

i could never positively imagine living in a post apocalyptic world because i think of all the systems that require constant upkeep and surveillance by humans, and how even a few days without it might be horrible
