I guess people just protest to feel better about themselves, IMO, so they can pat themselves on their backs and delude themselves they've changed the world for the better when in reality they haven't done anything but waste their time. In order to truly have an impact you need to be in politics, and be in positions such as policymaking and whatnot. IMO.
