what is your favorite movie or movies

title, i want to know
I don’t have favorites but I like Mysterious Skin, L.I.E, DÍDI, Big Time Adolescence, Saltburn, and Charlie Bartlett. I have more but I don’t want to bombard you with movies. I’m not a big TV show watcher either…

Good picks especially didi and mysterious skin

Fav movie of mine gotta be Memento

sorry but 7 was so boring to me 💀
Yeah, you’ve gotta appreciate the psychology behind it to really enjoy it. I like movies that teach you something, and this one nailed it, showing how manipulation can be both powerful and easy to resist if you understand how the other person thinks. Plus, it’s got one of the most legendary film characters ever: Hannibal Lecter.

the villain was john doe but yeah i agree, when i watch a movie i’m more looking for visual/emotional beauty than psychological thrillers

Watching movies is gay

Coraline, taxi driver, waxwork.

dead man, the big lebowski, 28 days

I’ve watched a lot, but Breaking Bad and Hannibal might be my favourite, classics.
Hannibal is easily one of my fav tv shows too. Had to get used to Mads’ accent, though. Thoughts on True Detective s01?

It looks really good, i plan to watch it sometime soon. I’m currently watching YOU
You absolutely should. It’s an anthology series, btw, so each season has a new story. The first season is by far the best. Still remember watching it when it came out in 2014.

+1 for Seven and The Silence of The Lambs.

I watched TSoTL together with Technobhai.
How did it go? Hope you liked it, pretty sure Techno did too. Next time, you should invite an old friend… for dinner, of course. You know, in true Silence of the Lambs fashion.
The Departed is not as good as the original Chinese version.
There is a Chinese version? What is it’s name
And lol’d at The Pianist. If you know, you know.
For real, every time I see Brody now, I think of you. That pfp did its j*b, you two are forever linked in my head.

What’s your movie list, Bhai? You into Japanese horror, right? Drop some recommendations. I feel like Japanese horror hits different, way better story progression and more unsettling, not just those cookie cutter jump scares like in most Western movies.

i recommend anybody to watch Dazed and Confused or Road (1987)

The end of Evangelion
Perfect blue
Sharing the secret
Painful secrets
Heather's
Dead poet society

Rififi
American Psycho
The third man
Eyes wide shut
Always changes tho

the third man has been on my watchlist for a while now. guess ill give it a watch soon

I'm actually not someone who watches a lot of movies or shows. So a lot of movies or shows I'd pick would probably be extremely boring to a majority of people, because I'm naturally boring.

Beaststars was a pretty good series. Waiting on the final season to finish up.

The Zone of Interest really disturbed me to be honest. I'm not easily disturbed. It's not graphic or anything but it was definitely a well done movie in my opinion. The 'flower' scene actually made me feel queasy.

Nevermind, we watched Red Dragon which is a sequel. We are supposed to watch The Silence of The Lambs next, but he’d been busy these past few weeks. I should text him.

Yes, it’s a remake of a Chinese flick called Infernal Affairs from 2002. The Departed was a remake of it. I would recommend the original. I watched both, but I liked the original more. Luckily, I watched the original first before I decided to watch the remake.

All credits go to JohnDoe, he had it first, I coped it.

My favorite movie list? Oof. I think my all-time favorite movie might be I Saw the Devil, a 2010 thriller from South Korea. It’s basically a cat-and-mouse game between a vicious serial killer and an intelligence agent.

And you’re right about Japanese horror, these movies tend to be more intelligent, and they stick with you even after the credits roll by. Your criticism of western horror movies is valid, which is why I don’t really watch those anymore. Japanese horror movies also have scenes where they can easily use jump scares, but they don’t use them. At least not in most cases. Their horror is less “in your face” and more “in your head.” I’ll PM you a list of horror movies later on, with links to them (subtitled).
