Currently, it's based off fast offtopic style , by priortizing replies rather than discussion and post quality
These types of threads can be hard for the general forum to get into, they are generally hyperspecific ,pertaining to certain user's beef or drama on the forum

I think it should be based off first message rep score , but this would be bad because there can be threads with high first message rep score but low replies that 1) don't promote discussion or conversation or 2) are personal hyperspecific rep farms
Maybe the current system is fine, but tons of replies =/ trending
Another possible solution is to make it so that the amount of unique users replied a thread indicates if it's trending or not (this will be much more indicative of it's trending), but from a programming / forum plugin perspective it could be difficult to achieve this without some extensive manuevering
But this SLOP posts can't keep gettinf away with dis shi mayne 🙏😭😰❤️

Agreed. It's just a slop fest. 0 looksmaxxing here.

Personal drama shouldn’t trend I think it has to be a combination of engagement and how interesting or useful
