Which one is better?

(Yeah, I know I don't have boobs and I'm 5'1, it's over with that, but I can't change that now lol)

First photo: average - BMI of 18

Pros:
- Enough strength for everyday activities.
- Size XS, so it’s somewhat possible to find and buy clothes
- Less hair loss (I had zero hair loss at a BMI of 20, but everyone said I was fat lol)

Cons:
- No gap between the thighs
- No visible collarbones or neck bones
- Very baby face fat, and just fat face
Etc.

Or the second photo - average/high BMI of 15

Pros:
- Visible collarbones, hip bones, jawline etc.
- Gap between the thighs
- Slim, skinny figure
- Slimmer face, so visually bigger eyes too
- Better mood for the reasons mentioned above

Cons:
- Severe hair loss, losing handfuls of hair lol
- Lack of strength, for drawing, carrying groceries, etc.
- Size XXS, so it was also hard for me to find clothes in stores

bmi is a shit way to measure ur body, i prefer bf%

either way, you should have the same pose in both pics,
the first one obviously looks better bc you are leaning on one hip, meanwhile the other is just you standing and taking a pic like an overweight british dude

less bodyweight should make you look better, tighter fitting clothing should be applied when you are more thin

I don't know the percentage, and I don't know how it's measured. I know there are skinfold calipers, but I've heard they aren't 100% accurate. These photos are from different times, so it's hard to strike the same pose 😭

My body fat at bmi 15 was probably lower than normal because my ribs were very visible. My sternum was a little visible. The bones below my knees were slightly visible lol, and well, there wasn’t much to grab on my stomach

the only way a normal person can kinda guess their bodyfat is to get naked, stand before a mirror and compare urself to other people,

for women a normal bf% is around 20%

if you want a better ratio i would recomend to start working out, and no you wont get bulky

those dont have to be signs of a low bf%, it just means you have a low weight in total,

but yes, it was most likely lower then when you were 18bmi

For a while now, I’ve been thinking about doing some strength training, a little at home with weights and a little at the gym. First, I’d go on a calorie surplus or something like that. And then I’d lose weight again to get back to the weight in the second photo ( 36/37 kg/155 cm ) so I can have a more defined body and a little more muscle after.

But I’m afraid I’ll bulk up too much, even though that’s actually pretty unlikely lol

even if you get too bulky, you can always stop.

i never met a single girl/guy who regretted going to the gym

Well, I have to. I try on different clothes, but nothing looks good on me 😭🔫 because, unfortunately, I have a bad figure, kinda narrow
There are certain types of clothing that flatter certain body types best. You dont have to try everything on when theres lots of data out there on which one works for you.

for example:
she has an inverted triangle body type which means her shoulders are wider than her hips. The second outfit is more flattering because it adds volume to her lower part, makes her legs appear shorter since she has a short torso, and the off shoulder shirt gives an illusion that her shoulders are more narrow.

There are many rules you can follow like specific necklines, shirt lengths, jeans, etc that work best and worst depending on body shape. I noticed in your second pic youre wearing a top that adds volume to your waist. Search up body type calculator and put in your measurements.

and I want to add that even colours play a part in shaping. Black makes things look smaller and brighter colours makes things look bigger, so if youre wearing black on your lower part at least make sure the rest of the outfit is also black, or that the lower part is baggy. Otherwise you are just making your ass look smaller compared to the rest of your body.

Thank you, I need to look into this. I saw something like this once, but I didn't really look into it.
