Why do parents automatically think they are always smart than you

With the recent popularization of peps, and just shit like that my parents are starting to take them, and finally allowing me to take them. And even tho I’ve been in the space for like 3 years they automatically just think they know more than me and think I have no idea what I’m doing. This shit makes me so mad, they think I’m a r****d just bc I’m younger. And every time I correct them they get mad at me and say my attitude is shit, like no shit it is your lying to yourself and I’m trying to help you.
