Why do people like films

Good ones make you think and entertain you. Its a healthier past time than smoking weed and gooning all day so im thankful for that. And if you find a good, one room theater, it makes the experience more enjoyable cuz ppl actuallt dedicate themselves to watching the movie.

It seems to all be slop and gay

they can make you feel emotions. i like that an amazing story can open your eyes to a lot
So does everything, how is feeling emotion a factor. I prefer books over film but I assume I haven't found a good film

The multiplex theaters are FULL of gay slop. Im EXTREMELY lucky to live in an area that plays good movies on film and shiieet. And its like 13 bucks too compared to amc’s shitty ass $20 tix 😭

Well, like with books, tastes with films can range widely. I’m more of an action/drama/thriller type of guy. Little bit of romance too. Some of my favorites are Jaws, Spider-Man 2, Trainspotting, Interstellar and The Before Trilogy.

The first 2 are just blockbusters that have good structure and depth to them. Trainspotting is phenomenal with it’s characters and their philosophies and just kind of a throwback to 90’s Britain/Scotland. Interstellar is probably the most revered film in this list because it is so well written and directed, it never makes you feel stupid once and understands the stakes at play. Before trilogy is a very “boring” movie but great at depicting what a blossoming and loving relationship looks like.

I think immersion plays another part in how enjoyable a movie can be. If you put one on for the sake of watching and hoping to get it over with, then its not going to be enjoyable. But if you go out to a nice theater with an ample amount of audience members that are enthused about the movie, it makes it just a little bit more enjoyable.

You never want to show up for a movie you dont have the SLIGHTEST interest in seeing. I saw Avatar 3 recently and i swear to god, i think i disassociated or something because i felt like an npc for a few minutes.
