Discussion Why do people like those who are older than them?

I’ve seen this pattern all of my life honestly, especially in women but Idk why’s that.
My little brother recently told me that a few of his friends have had huge crushes on me and idk how to react honestly (we pass each other like 4 years that are quiet a lot since I’m still young), I see lots of people thirsting over celebrities WAY older than them.
I was asking myself if that has anything to do with parental issues , maybe emotional maturity/experience,

i think its the maturity tbh
honestly i dont think ive met anyone my age whose remotely mature enough or is emotionally intelligent
