they dont want to be seen as racist i suppose. a lot of hollywood/netflix movies these days arent original and are either sequels, live actions of old animations (ex. snow white), or about historical figures/events. in the west most of these old stories, movies, and history feature white people only.

i assume because companies are only doing things that have been done before, they have to add diversity into already established stories, instead of taking the time and effort to create new plot lines that feature others.
