Ahh, yes, there are so many breeds. I have concluded that the best dogs to keep as a pet are probably golden retrievers and labradors. They're probably the sweetest dogs out there. But then you find out about Russian mountain dogs and you can't help but want to have one yourself, since they're basically mini bears. Sounds like a good dream to have, although I'd think twice about the cat. Why? Because of toxoplasmosis. In case you're wondering, wtf that is.. well, it's parasitic brainworms spread from cats to people. According to Wikipedia: "Up to half of the world's population is infected by T. gondii, but have no symptoms."
