Alright, to start off this thread I would like to say that no, you are not high IQ because of the fact that you have depression (and I also don't understand how some of you believe that depression correlates to high IQ lol), actually most studies suggest that low IQ individuals are more prone to depression than high IQ individuals.

Depression is a common mood disorder characterized by persistent, intense feelings of sadness, worthlessness and a loss of interest in activities for at least two weeks

So why is it that low iQ individuals are more prone to depression?

There's multiple factors as to why low IQ individuals are more prone to depression like the following:
Limited cognitive reserve (a brain's reduced ability to improvise, find alternative neural pathways or cope with damage, degeneration or aging).

Socioeconomic challenges (fewer career opportunities which leads to decreased status, financial instability and poorer living conditions).

Health literacy (higher iQ enables individuals to navigate healthcare systems more effectively and adopt healthier lifestyles, lower IQ can make it harder to acces and follow through with mental health treatments).

Biological Vulnerabilities (Some researchers suggest that lower childhood IQ may be a marker of overall "brain health". Differences in brain development or genetic factors might predispose an individual to both lower cognitive scores and a higher susceptibility to mood disorders).
