because dacia(romania) was more heavily influenced by the roman empire which conquered it and latin was the official language and stuck around. the byzantine empire later backed slavicization of other parts of the balkans. regions like bosnia were more impacted by slavic migrations and roman populations their weren't high to begin with. no serious long term polity existed to anchor the lanugage.
